👤 What Are Identities?
On Typa, an identity represents a persona that groups your social accounts across platforms. Each user starts with one default identity upon signup, and you can create more as needed.
One identity is automatically created for each user and one for the organization.
Each identity can link to one social account per platform.
Identities can be used for managing brand accounts as well as personal accounts.
🔄 Switching Between Identities
You can easily switch identities from the header bar. This lets you:
View sessions, post ideas, and drafts associated with a specific identity.
Manage analytics and content separately for each persona.
Stay organized across personal and brand accounts.
How to switch

Click your profile in the top right corner and choose from your available identities. You’ll see:
Your name and profile photo
A list of available identities (e.g. your personal name, a brand name, or teammates’ identities)
An option to “Add identity” to create a new one
🔧 Managing Identities & Connecting Social Accounts

You can configure and manage each identity’s profile, bio, and social connections directly from the Identity Settings page.
How to Access
There are two ways to open an identity’s settings:
From the Identity Switcher
Click the user-gear icon (⚙️) next to any identity in the dropdown.
This will take you directly to the settings page for that identity.
Via Settings → Identities
Navigate to Settings in the sidebar.
Select Identities under the “Organization” section.
Click on the identity you want to manage.
What You Can Do Here
On the identity settings page, you can:
✍️ Edit your bio
Use this space to describe the persona or brand associated with the identity.
A clear, descriptive bio helps Typa understand the identity better and suggest more relevant content ideas tailored to its goals and audience.
🔗 Connect or Reconnect social accounts
Supported platforms are: X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Bluesky
If a connection expires, use the Reconnect button to reauthorize access.
🏢 Connecting LinkedIn Organization Pages
To connect a LinkedIn organization page, you must first link a LinkedIn account with administrative access to that page to an identity.
Once connected, Typa can post and analyze content on behalf of your company.
🗃️ Archive an identity
If you no longer need an identity, you can archive it. This will remove it from the switcher but preserve its data for future reference.
Each identity can link to one account per platform, and once connected, Typa will import posts, sync analytics, and allow you to schedule and publish content accordingly.
